
Dr. Mica Rencher
Mica Rencher is the Assistant Dean of Programs at the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. In this role, Mica works with students as they develop their innovative and entrepreneurial ideas and supports the Institute’s efforts in growing businesses in the community. Prior to joining Hofstra, Mica was an Assistant Dean at Fordham University where she helped students to navigate a myriad of academic decisions including discerning their majors and minors, imbedding study abroad opportunities into their academic portfolios, and forging pathways to timely degree completion while also teaching in the Psychology Department. Mica earned her B.A. in Psychology from St. John’s University and her M.A. in Psychology from Columbia University. Mica also earned her Doctorate in Educational Policy at Fordham University where her research focuses on programs and policies that promote economic mobility for students from low-income backgrounds. In addition, Mica also owns a jewelry company that focuses on empowering women through jewelry pieces that allow them to shimmer in any room.
